Buffalo's trash pickup one day later; Christmas tree recycling available - Buffalo News

Since New Year's Day falls on a Wednesday this week, Wednesday’s garbage and recyclables in Buffalo will be picked up on Thursday, according to a city spokeswoman. Thursday’s garbage and recyclables will be picked up on Friday. Friday’s garbage and recyclables will be picked up on Saturday.

Monday’s scheduled garbage pickup will remain the same.

Curbside collection of Christmas trees for recycling lasts for one week, beginning Monday.

The city also will host a free electronics waste recycling event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the City of Buffalo Engineering Garage, 1120 Seneca St.

Buffalo residents are encouraged to bring computers, printers, toner cartridges, computer accessories, televisions, tablets, scanner, audio equipment, video equipment and circuit boards. Residents may also recycle Christmas tree lights, used clothing and clean
white bulk Styrofoam.
