Fire reported at trash plant in Middletown - New Haven Register

MIDDLETOWN — Firefighters are struggling to put down a blaze at the Dainty Rubbish waste management site off of Sunday morning, multiple news outlets report.

Crews have had to contend with high winds Sunday morning, which pushed smoke and heat through the entrance to the building, journalists from Fox 61 and WFSB reported from the scene off Industrial Park Road.

WFSB reports first-responders were called to that address at 9:45 p.m. Saturday night, after smoke was reported in the area.

As of about 8:50 p.m., crews had brought in equipment to enter the building, a reporter from Fox 61 said on Twitter.

The business is listed as permanently closed on Google, but its website links to All American Waste, a parent waste management organization that oversees several subsidiaries and affiliates in Connecticut and western Massachusetts, according to its website.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
